Poster presenters should check in & register at the CARE Conference Information Table if they haven’t already registered early on Friday.
Presenters should hang their posters for their presentation day and remove them as per the times indicated below. Posters can only be affixed to the boards using the provided velcro - please do not use pins. Each poster board will be marked (on either side) with the code that was provided to you in the acceptance letter. Presenters are expected to be at their poster boards during the assigned session time to engage with viewers and answer questions.
A formal presentation is not required but we recommend that you prepare a 3-minute ‘elevator pitch’ to summarize the key points of your study, should someone ask…”so tell me about your study”. This approach gives the presenters opportunities to engage multiple viewers and have some detailed discussions as time permits!

General Guidelines for Poster Preparation:
The poster board size is 3’ (91cm) height X 6’ (208 cm) width, so plan your poster size accordingly. Poster should not exceed the poster board size. One side of the poster board per poster.
There is not a specific poster format required – we encourage authors to be creative and customize their poster within the size requirements. Below are some suggestions for layout and resources for designing your poster with considerations for accessibility.
Layout & Accessibility:
Typical poster sizes are: 40” x up to 56” or 34” x up to 56”….but again, you can customize as you like! (vertical or horizontal formats are fine)
Place title, Authors & Affiliations at the top of your poster; logos for your institutions/organizations can be included here as well. Check to see if your institution has a standardized poster template as a starting point!
Keep the background simple and don’t overuse colors or patterns (see the resources below to assist with color design considerations)
Use high resolution graphics
Ensure your tables or graphs are also a high resolution and appropriate size to be seen from at least 2 feet away.
Break poster into sections – consider organizing in columns.
Don’t overload your poster with text – consider how you can use bullet points to make succinct information content.
Flow your information in an easy-to-follow manner, moving left to right.
Fonts:
Consider using sans-serif fonts such as: Arial, Gill Sans, Helvetica or Verdana. Using a consistent font throughout is recommended.
Serif fonts such as Times New Romand and Garamond are best for headings only.
All text should be legible from 6 feet away…some text size suggestions:
Main title: 72 point (minimum) – 158 point (ideal)
Section headings: 42 point (minimum) – 56 point (ideal)
Body: 24 point (minimum) – 36 point (ideal)
Captions: 18 point (minimum) – 24 point (ideal)
